Awolnation sells out The Fillmore Silver Spring and brings a warming feeling to the cold rainy weather in the DMV.
The stage was set up with a bunch mid western like props with instruments in the surrounding areas. The lights went dark and immediately a spotlight drew everyone’s attention to up in the balcony where front man Aaron Bruno began the intro of their opening song Here Comes the Runts. After a few verses into the song Bruno made his way down to the stage to join the rest of the band.
With a crowd jam packed into the 2400+ space the band performed a twelve song setlist including Hollow Moon, Kill Your Hero’s and Stop That Train. The energy the band gave off really set the mood for the rest of the night, the mood was energetic and very uplifting. After twelve songs, the band left the stage only to come back out to fans chanting “AWOL” repeatedly, the band was ready to perform a three song consisting of Run, Burn It Down and their most popular hit Sail. Hit after hit the crowd left with nothing but pure happiness.
