Go Live: Noah Cyrus Sells Out The Troubadour

By: Amy Wolff

Up-and-coming pop artist Noah Cyrus played an exclusively intimate show at The Troubadour in Los Angeles, California this past week. The show marks a monumental moment for the pop star, who has collaborated with artists such as Labrinth, XXXTentacion, and MØ, as it was her first proper headlining show and it sold out within minutes of tickets going on sale. She also supported pop sensation Katy Perry as the opening act for a number of her ‘Witness: The Tour’ dates last Fall. Cyrus is no stranger to the entertainment industry (as if the last name was any indication), she has grown-up alongside her talented sister Miley Cyrus and father Billy Ray Cyrus, both pop and country icons in their own right. Cyrus showed her appreciation and tweeted to her fellow ‘Cyrens’ that it was going to be a special event. She brought along fellow friends and funeral-pop based MXMS (otherwise known as, Me and My Shadow) to open the night.

Fans were lined up outside the venue as early as 10 AM that very morning, some even lucky enough to meet Cyrus throughout the day as she popped outside to say hello. Shortly after the doors opened at 7 PM, there was hardly any space available on the general admission floor. Cyrus, sporting a metallic bustier and MC Hammer-style parachute pants, kicked off her performance with her second single off the soon-to-be-released debut, NC-17, “Stay Together.” Throughout the course of the night, Cyrus performed a variety of hits and covers that kept the crowd on their feet including “Again,” “Almost Famous,” “I’m Stuck,” and BØRNS cover “Electric Love.” She even brought out a few guests, namely MØ for their collab “We Are…” and a special appearance by her beau, Tanner Drayton.

“Okay, can we play ‘Make Me (Cry)’ now?!” Cyrus asked the audience eagerly, before closing out with her first single that hit the airwaves nearly a year and a half ago. “Thank you so much, everyone, for coming out, tonight was absolutely amazing and I still can’t believe you guys sold the f–k out my first headlining show,” Cyrus expressed following her set. It didn’t take long for fans to notice some familiar faces up in the balcony, as sisters Miley and Brandi, as well as Tish and Billy Ray, stood up in support of Cyrus. Miley, bringing the attention back to her sister and donning a pulled-over “We Are F–ked” hoodie asked the crowd to chant their support for her sister for a clip posted to her Instagram story shortly after.

It’s clear that Cyrus’ career is only just beginning, and she’s a contender for one of the most influential artists of this day and age. Future plans are unknown, but it’s safe to say Cyrus delivered on her promise for an incredible night and should she announce more appearances, you’re not going to want to miss out.

Cyrus’ latest single, “We Are…” (feat MØ) is available now.
