GO LIVE: Anna of the North’s headlinging tour makes a stop in Washington D.C.! This is a tour you don’t want to miss!

Anna of the North, the Norwegian singer/songwriter is a name you’re probably familiar with but don’t know why. You may recognize her on popular tracks “Boredom”, and “911/Mr. Lonely” from Tyler, The Creator’s GRAMMY® Award nominated album Flower Boy, as well as appearances with the likes of Dua Lipa, and G-Eazy. However, here is your cue to go and listen to her original work. How Anna of the North has slipped under my radar for so long I will never know. I can tell you that she has cemented herself in my rotation for years to come. She opened her Crazy Life tour Thursday night at Union Stage and she did not disappoint. Showcasing a voice so beautiful and so powerful wrapped in dance pop anthems, you couldn’t stop moving even if you wanted!

The air in the night was different, with one of the strongest opening acts I’ve seen to date MARIS brought an energy that could not be matched. Paired with her keyboardist Jessica we were given a performance I don’t think anyone was prepared for. In a show that featured exciting choreography, air guitar solos, and a Queen dance party you would never know that she only has four released songs. This is all without mentioning her voice, make sure to keep an eye on her because a talent that strong won’t stay quiet for long. Check out her songs “Heavenly Bodies”, and “Crashland to find out for yourself.

Anna took the stage as a perfect complement with a beautifully calm presence that had a profound effect on the crowd. On top of beautiful vocals and strong band chemistry you would’ve never imagined this was the first show of a tour. Undeniably you noticed Anna’s ability to deliver a strong performance while also connecting with as many fans as possible. I think if she had the chance she would’ve hugged nearly everyone in the sold out space. I’ve never seen such a strong and intimate personal connection with an audience. All the while still delivering a fun dance encouraging environment. This was all encapsulated with a show ending dance party where Anna herself made her way to the floor dancing the night away with all her loving fans beside her. I wasn’t expecting this show to stick out to me as much as it did and it was incredibly fulfilling to be a part of it.
